| question on a custom enclosure hey guys I am going to be putting a custom enclosure into my trunk. I am not going to do fiberglass because im not going to be showing it I just dont want to have a box in there. My question is that will my subs sound better pointing toward the front or toward the rear???? If they do in the rear I will probably get Audiobahn Flame subs because they look awesome but if not I will go to my trusty JL audio, it has never done me wrong. Please let me know of what you guys know.....and just so you know a dvd screen is going in the front along with a 500w JL audio amp under glass with mirrors and neons in the trunk, I will defenatly post pics when its done, gonna take about a month or 2 but please let me know.

| When i was experimenting with subs pointing toward the front and the rear it sounded way better pointed toward the front. I have two alpine type R's. It also shook the trunk alot more pointed toward the rear. |

| Dub-Dub, tis a nice page you linked i do think, pointing the subs backward gives off better sound, the liscense plate IS annoying, but i still havent found any way to reduce it really (i havent used any sound reducing mats or whatever) i guess, just fiddle with it, and then decide on your own what you like best ![]() |

| on the e36 it is very easy to deaden the license plate noise. go to home depot and buy some black rubber grommets (small ones) that will fit onto the license plate then just screw the plate down as you would normally, this worked wonders for me. You can even use some o-rings if you cant find grommets. I remember on my jetta however, it only had two places to screw the plate in with, so the top didnt shake but the lower part of the license plate did. Hope this helps

| Killing the plate rattle is easy. Just take a small amount of styrofoam and use duct tape to put it behind the license plate. Put enough on all the corners so the plate is just barely not touching the actual car. It won't look funny and it won't rattle anymore. If you have a 4 door, you'll have to worry about the back dash, mine would "breath" a good inch or two from the south presure and would make some nasty sounds. On two doors, i don't know if its a problem
