XBOX or PS2

I am in the process or re-installing my stereo equipment in my car. It was all removed when I was about to trade it in and then the dealer screwed me. I am adding some new additions this time. I am going to be using a PS2 or an XBOX for the gaming system and a DVD player. What would you prefer in a car the PS2 or the XBOX? I have seen a lot of PS2's and was wondering why you don’t see many XBOX's. Thanks for the help.

I would say get XboX! you can mod a Xbox and add mp3, video, movies, store/ripped games into the hd, and software which lets you play other system games

Thanks for the info, If I buy a new XBOX can it play MP3's and movies from the hard drive without modification? Do you know of any problems mounting it in a car? Can it be mounted vertically, with the design of my new system I really cant mount it flat. Thanks for the help.

hey yo xbox freezes up sumtimes but a ps2 doesnt so i would say get a ps2

but u cant play mp3

what software makes u able to play other systems games on xbox? i have never heard of it but it sounds cool

If you want games, go for the PS2. No doubt. But if you want a system that does more than plays games, get the XBOX. I have mine setup as a media center and an emulator box. I've got a TON of older NES, SNES, N64, SEGA games and even some PS1 games. The thing that I also like about the XBOX is that you can upgrade the hard drive. That way you don't need to run back to your trunk to switch games or movies. Just run it off of your HD.

the only thing about playing DVDs in a Playstation is that the lazer craps out quicker, especially if you have it in a car. Get the PS2 but keep it separate(DVD Player separate). X BOX is just too bulky to me

The X-Box has alot more upgrade potential but fitment is a problem because of size and wieght....you wont get it inside your glove box like a PS2

I replaced my glove box with the X-BOX

i have an xbox in my car and whenever my engine is on you can hear a whining noise from the speakers that changes with the engine speed. some people tell me its because i have to use an inverter, others tell me that its ignition noise... does everybody have this problem? is there something im doing wrong? is there any way to convert the xbox to use 12volt input like you can do with the ps2?

i reccomend getting a PS2 they lok good and play most of the stuff, for the MP3 it is NO but that is why u should get a deck in ur car that supports MP3/WMA, but go with the PS2 for games, and the Optical out, btw does XBOX have an Optical out?
