| Serious amp/sub wiring question from noob... I bought the Memphis PR124d sub which is the 12" 4 ohm dual voice coil sub, and a sealed enclosure. I am going to go back next weekend and spend about $250 for a Memphis monoblock class d amp that I believe makes 250 watts. I have an older MTX rt-a250 50watss rms x 2 that I went ahead and hooked up to the sub for some bass for a few days and it sounds ok, but I wonder if I have it hooked up right. I currently have 1 channel going to one side of the sub and one channel going to the other. -Is this OK for a couple days until I get the "right" amp? -What is the best way to hook up a 2 channel amp to a 4 ohm dual voice coil sub, or am I damaging the sub and I should just unhook it? |

| Dude, if you want a memphis, you can pick up slightly used 1000d's (1000 watts) for $200 - $300. Look on ebay, and at car audio forum, in the for sale section........ http://www.caraudioforum.com/vbb2/fo...mid=6&x=10&y=9 Also, you may want to look into Cadence A7's or Crossfire 1000d's...they are both great amps, and can be had for $300 or less. The Cadence is the most powerful of all three...it puts out 1400 watts at 1 ohm, or 800 watts at 2 ohms.
