hey, I just got new speakers, and a new head unit for my 94 BMW 318is and i'm not getting much bass, and the sound isn't really that good... I got some pretty good speakers, but I'm thinking that the wiring isn't the greatest, cause my friend had the same prob and it was becasue not all of the wires were connected to the metal on the speaker itself. Has anyone else had this prob? and how can I fix it???

You might need an amp. I would suggest getting an Alpine amp to run your speakers they will sound much better then. You might also want to try turning up the bass on your headunit it might come with it toned down. Use the large expensive speaker wire and you will get a better signal to your speakers.

it will sound not as loud because your factory speakers are hooked up to an amp, not very nice but nicer than having none and when they hook up your new speakers they dont work with the factory amp so it will sound worse

yea... i was thinkin about puttin an amp in it, which is wut my friend did, and now the whole car shakes when theres lotsa bass... today, he just installed 2 speakers under the seats, mounted a set on the door... its nice
