Stock stereo deck: Screen burnt out...

This post thread might get moved -- but does anyone know if and how to fix a burnt out screen on the OEM deck? It still plays, but I can't see WHAT I am playing on my changer.

common problem on the stock deck.. broken solder connections on the led diplay. annoying, isn't it? when it happened to me my dealer told me they could send it to alpine and have it fixed for a flat fee of 200 dollars or i could by a new one for 600 dollars (ouch). i swapped it out for a used one i got for like 50 bucks.. works like a charm.

i suppose it's physically possible to have it fixed by a stereo shop, or this is your chance to buy that new aftermarket deck you've had your eye on..
