Are Falken Tires good?

My friend works at an auto parts store and he can get me Falken tires pretty cheap in 225/40/18. Either those or Toyo Proxes (sp?). The Falken's tread pattern looks a lot more aggressive... How shitty are these tires? I really dont care about the grip because I dont auto X or race, I just need a long lasting tire. I only have the money for cheap tires right now because all of it is going into the rims Will I skid and hit a tree in the wet?

More agressive than Toyo Proxes T1S??? My Toyos are very agressive looking!

I got the Toyos and am very happy with them so far. Click on my webpage below for pictures.

I think it really depends on what type of driver you are. I live in San Diego and I can't say a thing about wet weather traction thing But the the Falkin Azinis 115 (Z-rated) has an aqua tread design with a 360 tread wear and should give you long life on the tires that you're looking for. I think for the $$$, It's not a bad tire. The people I've talked with that have them, seen to like theirs. That's my .02 Good Luck with whatever you decide on.

Yeah the ones I am talking about have the aqua tread thing in the middle. The Toyo's I saw werent as aggressive as yours Zoso, but I think I will price the Proxes T1S vs. the Falkens and which ever is cheaper is the one I will go with.

A good friend of mine (who I sold my 944 to) uses Falkens on the car all the time. He has done autox and track events with them, (when he's too lazy to put on r's) and he swears by them. He says that they are good in the wet, but this is coming from a dude who, in the rain, needs a wiper on his side windows too.
Only thing I don't remember is which falken model he likes.
