| FS: 1997 M3 2dr 5spd w/ Fikse FM10's -- California After 4 amazing years of ownership, the time has come to sell what was my dream car when growing up as a kid. As everyone else selling their M3, I am extremely sad to see it go. A sudden career change has now rendered my BMW impractical, and I must move into something a little more “friendly.” I realize I could turn my car back to stock, but I simply do not have the time or the energy to undertake something like that at this point in my life. I will consider the $6,600.00 I have recently put into the car a foregone cost of car ownership. For sale is a 1997 BMW E36 M3 with 145,659 miles on the clock. Under my ownership, the miles have been mostly freeway driven. I have owned the car since November of 2004 and am the 3rd owner. The car has been owned by a female doctor for the bulk of its life. The Car: 1997 BMW E36 M3 Cosmos Black 2dr 5spd 145,659 miles Black leather w/ Vaders Clean title Compression test done 2/7/2008 reads: Cylinder 1) 200psi 2) 205psi 3) 205psi 4) 205psi 5) 205psi 6) 200psi NEWS: • Over $6,600.00 worth of work done in the last 14 months. Work includes: o Brand new front & rear brakes with Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors & Axxis Ultimate pads. o New intake air boot & air hose from ICV to intake boot. o All 6 spark plugs (HGK Hi Performance) & coil packs w/ connectors. o Brand new front control arms & bushings. o Brand new front sway bar end-links. o Brand new heavy duty rear trailing arm mounts. o Brand new driver’s side-mirror & re-spray (someone smacked my mirror off in the middle of the night) o Entire car had paint re-buffed & teflon spray waxed by West Coast Specialties. Paint looks excellent. (www(dot)westcoastspecialties(dot)net) o Entire interior and exterior has been professionally detailed by West Coast Specialties. • Mods Include: o H&R Adjustable Coilovers o Fikse FM/10 17” forged modular wheels (www(dot)fikse(dot)com/classic(dot)html) o Ground Control Front Camber Plates o Rogue Engineering rear shock mounts o BMW X-Brace o 5mm front spacers o Brand new euro-spec shift knob o Cosmos Racing cold air intake o The new owner will get two stock head-units, one 1997 head-unit and one 1998.5 head-unit. THE ISSUES: • When rolling down the passenger side window, occasionally it makes a snapping noise when first descending. This may just be a case of simply taking the door panel off and adjusting the window. • Both seatbelts are slow to retract back in when unbuckling the belt. This is a brand new issue. • The airbag light is on. This is due to the driver’s side sensor located in the belt buckle. Others have posted about it on this board. • I have all parts necessary for a working stereo, however it is disconnected as of now. I disconnected it 2 years ago, got rid of the subwoofer, and never bothered connecting it again. I was going to try turning my stereo back to stock, but was too lazy to actually attempt it. Therefore, the new owner will have two stock head-units in addition to the aftermarket parts. Other than that, it runs beautifully. It’s just sitting in a garage right now, so it will be clean and ready for anyone interested. Asking $9,500 OBO. E-Mail is -- tyler(dot)blue(at)gmail(dot)com The car is located in San Diego, CA The first 2 shots were taken as of the time of this posting. |
