The "S52" is one name for the US 3.2L engine that is only a single vanos system, like the M52 series of engines it was derived from - found in other e36 3-series bmw's... because of that; some call it the M52B32 engine... but it normally is called the S52 just so that the US people don't feel left out of the "S" engine crowd.
So; take your pick - S50B32 or S52... those are your two choices for 3.2L e36 M3 engines... depending on which side of the pond you reside.

Who get there facts straight? You are the one with some wrong info. The s50 US version is not a 3.2, it is a 3.0. The 96'-99' M3 had the S52B32. Who calls it an M52B32? I guess people that don't know. |
