For those who are not mechanics by trade this thread may be good for you!!

Im no mechanic but i know my basic engines and how they work. so i decided
after long thinking and my engine starting to burning lots of oil, i've decieded to start the engine swap for the e30. i've never done an engine swap but observed and assisted my cousin rebuilt his v8 and turbo tx3 so i have a basic idea what im up against.

i picked up a 325 e30 engine out of a later e30 model with the original computer. rebuilt with 20,000kms on it.

Saturday evening i started the project. things completed: bonnet off, strut brac off, battery out and on charge, coolant drained, radiater out and hoses disconnected, air filter and afm out, and ignition leads out.

sunday evening: extractors off and oil drained. When taking bolts off the ertactors.... fuck what a job!! so tight getting the hidden bolts close to the fire wall.

things i hate are electrics and wires fucking everywhere....

thank god the misses was home to help hold things like when getting the bonnet off... haha.... they not only good in the kitchen.

all pictures will be uploaded when im out of work and at home.

for those thinking of doing it..... just do it and give it a go, its a fun challenge if you have patients.
