It wasn't an expensive part but it could have turned it into one if the mechanic didnt get it out.

| I forgot to mention that was just for the part they then charged me another $200 odd to fit the damn thing and when i got the car back it still had the same problem as when it went in there. Had a shudder in the front in between 60 and 70 kph. Mark |

| People who rave on about japanese cars being cheap to own/maintain/mod are kidding themselves. Sure they're cheaper to buy, but the buck stops there.

| Only owned one non-euro car which was a datto and cost me next to nothing... but that's not a fair comparison cos it was a datsun and i had a bafoon work on it while a threw him bits a celery :| I just payed a little over $2k for a major service and new brakes on my e21... so as long as it has the badge you will be charged as though you are made of money. ....and it's running worse than when i took it in.. You get charged a buttload more in the city than regional areas too... even in diff suburbs. |

| you got torn a new arsehole over that major service. Thats expensive by even bmw standards. Rotors and pads are worth about $450 a full set retail. Did you have the timing belt done? |

![]() i dont think they make ''NEW'' e21s. would be nice tho. id get a new e30 and option up to the uncracked dash. but yeah, if i took an e21 to the mech and he said $2k id say 'no i only what a price for service, its not for sale' find a new mechanic, or do it yourself. most stuff isnt hard. |
