Dealer recode my LCM

hi guys

anyone know any good, intelligent dealers that will reflash my Light Control module to enable Bi-Xenon? Apparently most dont even know what it is!

I have now sourced my OEM biXenon housings which are a straight swap, but to enable bixenon I need a reflash and then I need to complete the DIY to enable electrical connectivity from the LCM to the Ballast

Thanks

If you search on E46Fanatics, you can probably find the steps that the dealer has to go through on the computer to do it. Then take that to the dealer and ask?

Try Sydney BMW, because when they install LED retrofit kits on the E46s ( like mine ) , they have to re-flash the LCM, so they should know how to do it for your car. Just speak to someone in service, instead of some n00b from sales who doesn't know anything remotely mechanical/electrical about cars.

Hi Etez, yep I called them and they said they can do it. 1.5hrs! $240 - bit of a joke. I do have the details for a MODIC station, but all BMW workshops use SSS now (a 15,000 euro computer)

I'm wondering if I can remove the trim, and dislodge the LCM partly to make the reprogramming a bit cheaper. They also said it may not work in which case I'm still up for the $

Anyone know of any non BMW dealerships with a MODIC or SSS that can do this? BMW want too much money (it's a 2minute job once the LCM is removed, and I can do that)

Thanks guys!

Ewww.... i also had HIDs in stock reflectors and they were terrible... took them out and put the halogen bulbs back in. I've since bought some P46 and it's great. Whilst the xenon kit that umnitza supplied has trouble with my car, even with halogens the cutoff is well defined.

Good news thus far, the BiXenons are in. Yes they flicker but I'm visiting a workshop on Monday morning to recode for BiXenon.

Does anyone know if when using BiXenon Halogen remains on, or switches off?

Thanks

i have p46, if you modify the cut off a little, it is just like OEM HIDs.... (well i think the projector lenses of the P46 is smaller than OEM ones)

I just had my LCM recoded recently for my LED tail lights. Brisbane BMW charged me $67. Sounds like a bit of rip for $250.

found some OEM xenons in the US. took them apart and flipped the cutoffs so they are correct for RHD. Easy.
