E46 328Ci Navigator Question... (Aust Version).

Hi Everyone...

I've recently bought a 328CI...

It has the 4:3 screen, but does not have navigator ....

I was wondering

1. if Year 2000 (march) delivered 328ci will come with all the wiring needed for the navigation unit? (which means all i need to buy is the nav unit).

2. Will i be able to use the MKIV GPS on this screen? (do i need new wiring?)

3. Would i need new wiring if i want to change to the 16:9 screen + navigator? ( put it this way, are the wires and connectors interchangeble between these upgrades?)

I found my answers to most of the above questions, but still my main concerns are the compatability of Euro Nav unit and local delivered car.

i am not sure what map data Aust delivered BMW use, and whether a euro MKIV unit would read the local map fine...

you will be fine, once the unit gets here just have it coded, i have to software and interface you can use if you are in sydney im happy to code it for you....the mk3 and mk4 are great untis i can code a mk3 mono to colour if you need, just send me a PM of the PN you are wanting to buy and ill let you know

My MK3 is on its way from UK.....

not sure of its product number tho.... i'll PM you when it arrives..

i think i will need extra wire harness to complete teh install (and not so sure what exactly i'll need)...

hope things turns out not too difficult.

You will need the complete Nav harness from boot to dash
Very big job

i think the wires were built in... since i already had the TV module and the screen as factory option.

should only be a short wire harness to connect the GPS to the original loom or the TV... plus a GPS Antenna..

yep u should have wiring behind the left hand boot panel taped up in padded black fabric tape behind the factory cd stacker

now i have the nav computer, it works great... but i need the australia MAP.....

would any1 be kind enough to share a copy with me? Or sell me their old map CD??
