Difference between E46 models

Hey guys was wondering if someone could point me to a page or inform me of what the difference is between all the models. I'm looking at 318i at the moment and some say MY2002 or MY2003 etc after them. Obviously I just assumed that the number represented the year but I have seen quite a few that are MY2002 and are 2003 models. There are also variations of this.

So what does that MY number actually mean and is there somewhere that explains the differences between them all? As I know I think from 2003 onwards was the refreshed model?

Thanks in advance!

From my understanding the MY actually means manufacture year.......the car can manufacturer in 02 but registred on 03. So we call this 03 model MY 2002.

The facelift included a revised front end, some had different engines and some interior changes including the steering wheel.

Update models have the 2 litre valvetronic that replaces the old out dated 1.9litre.

Cosmetic changes, Newer style headlights, kidney grills, revised tail lights,
Interior changes are the steering wheel and options probably.

It actually means model year - hence an MY03 may have been first registered in MY02.

Suspension/chassis was also revised for the facelift.

This might help - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_E46

I think in the facelift they began to have Executive and Sport models. Sport obviously have sport wheels, bodykit and lower suspension. Executive have the normal wheels/bodykit/suspension but come standard with things like the 16:9 TV. The TV did not come standard on the sport.

The facelift generally came with Bluetooth standard as well (not sure if Sport had it though). Also rain sensing wipers and automatic headlights.

Oh forgot also, the facelifted sedan also had revised rear taillights. The facelift has from top to bottom Red/Clear/Red, whereas the non-facelift had Clear/Red.
