| You'd be better off going to Bavariacars, it'd probably work out cheaper in the long run. It'd be pretty costly with all the import duties, taxes etc and it's a long way to Turkey if you have a drama. That said, Mert gets alot of gear and ideas from the Herbert and Erik he thanked them for there help on the DA website, there also located in Sydney so why not just go to them? Just a thought.

Fair enough. MrBlonde's M Coupe is the second fastest street registered BMW worldwide. Mert also get's his technical advice from them, which he happily and readily admits. So maybe they aren't at the same level.Good luck with the DA-Motorsport kit, interesting setup as most tuners seem to go S/C with the stanard engine internals. Seems to claim good power too

There has been a lot of glossy web site activity for quite a long time, announcing one breakthrough after another, but no endorsement from satisfied customers either for road or track use. This is not to say the kits wont work, but for your own protection, wait until full reports are available after normal lengthy road useage,as opposed to shop testing. However ,if you are feeling brave, put your money where your mouth is and get a DA kit fitted,I'm sure every one would be very interested and wish you luck. To imply that DA is at a higher level than Bavaria is just ridiculous, not even worth discussing! Last edited by mikisu; 10-25-2005 at 05:01 PM.. |

He had no inkling of turbocharging until he started picking Herbert's brain. If you take a look here http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...highlight=GT45 you will see that I am the person who first gave Mert the idea to run a GT42R turbo on his car back in 2003, before that he was trying to get 1000+ bhp from a GT30R on pump fuel. Mert has torched over six S50B32 engines in his quest to understand how to turbocharge an E36 M3. He still runs the tune too lean because he doesn't believe in dyno machines for tuning (he tunes on the road!). So let's get things straight, Bavariacars have it all over Mert Dastan. And DA Motorsport is Mert on his chicken farm with another dude helping him. Don't take my word for it, take a look here http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=407940 to see what the FI community in the USA thinks about DA Motorsport.

| Just goes to show that you should do your homework before making a fool of yourself. The above links provide fascinating reading. Mert of DA doesnt believe in Dyno readings,( there is dyno error) and he still hasnt provided any to back up his seemingly wildly exaggerated claims. He relies instead on convoluted mathematical illogic to defend his claims and to arrive at power figures-of the type; (Originally Posted by EIAlfonso) "My car needs only 15hp to do 50 mph. My car is rated at 225hp 225hp/15hp=15 15 X 50Mph = 750 MPH Therefore my car has a top speed of 750 MPH (Check my math above if you want) I DO NOT BELIEVE IN SPEEDOMETERS (You've heard of speedometer error)" One of the respected English tuners Zoom, who rode in his M3,thought that compared to his own s/c M3,the car may be making half of the claimed figure. Leaves a bad taste! The problem being that his credibility is shot, even before he is halfway to providing a worthwhile product. Last edited by mikisu; 10-25-2005 at 08:04 PM.. |
