I made it most of the way through, they earn AUD$300 .... a month...

Expensive or cheap .. it depends on what it is you are buying. Do you have alternate pricing for performance aftermarket S14 rods? Or are you just talking in general .. in which case I agree. Everything for cars is expensive!
