Just saw these pics on performanceforums.com







awesome idea if you dont have the cash for an M3

Costs for transplanting it would be huge though I'd imagine

This car was sale on the Trading Post about 3 months back....

It was an abandoned project

E36 shell and 2JZ-GTE engine and parts for $14,000

Im thinking it is the same one i saw as it is rare to find 2 people doing this to a BMW....

A company called KFG make the kits for the conversion....

yeah - I reckon it would be a pretty impresive conversion from a straight-line point of view, but the 2JZGTE is not a light engine and would most likely throw out the E36 balance a fair bit.

The website I posted seems to have a few very neat conversions... If I had a E36 rolling shell and only $10k for an engine conversion then I would definitely consider a RB26 or 2JZ conversion (or 1UZ or VH41 etc).

If there was another motor you would use other than BMW, the 2j would have to be the pick with its massive torque and power on early. Be a cheeper power monster.
