DDE in show

Hi, in the last final battle everyone having the DDE turn on in thier car.

This coming show i thinking of doing that to show my DDE. My question is that:

1. Do u guys turn on the DDE all day?
2. Does ur battery need to be recharge?
3. Can i do that with my BMW stock battery?
4. How othen i need to charge the batt?
5. Will this damage the DDE?

The DDE only slap 12V.......
You would easily be able to run them for a few hours before wanting to give your car battery a few revs.

If you leave the DDE's with light boxes, they will most likely drain your battery if you leave them in for most of the day....i know they did with nico's in melbourne, and i think it happened to cesar in one of the shows a while back....

Lightnings on the other hand wouldnt use too much power at all i dont think.....

I had GenIV dde's and drained my battery by leaving them on for too long....i think its a pretty common problem, coz they use quite a bit of juice....

and about the DDE's.....it wont damage them by leaving them on too long....but if you have colour filters in the light boxes, it may melt them if they are the ones from bimmian and have not been installed properly.....but if you put the filters in the end of the rings, you wont have any problems i believe...

why dosent someone bring along a battery charger (only $60) and a spare battery or two and just swap them over or just start up yoru car it cant be that hard can it??

Sorry - I have Lightning Enhanced - they use next to nothing. I am running them on 6V at the moment, and after charging up they do fine. Ideally you need to wire them up to get full 12V. I dunno - Babs did it for me.

Ok, experiences from Autosalon FB off my car (E36 - lightnings) and renee's car (E46 - gen v).

My car, left on for ALL SHOW LONG. First night after whole day on - drained battery. I'm using an Optima D34 which has a huge capacity and is a well known SPL battery. Then again those puppies were on for about 12 hours straight - no other systems. Other then that rings were fine, headlight glass hot to touch but otherwise fine. Problem solved by simply keeping the system connected to a charger in my boot. Simple!

Renee's - would've drained battery in about 2 hours i'd say. She didn't even have them on for fear of overheating and draining. Made the headlight very hot to touch very quickly. I guess this wouldn't be such a problem on the road - ie. wind cooling effect.

Area we were in was very hot and very humid.

that's my experiences anyway...

DDE's no damage, battery charged overnight and I don't see any problems with an OEM battery. After all they are quite large...

lightbox DDEs will not only use heaps of power but will also heat up and depending on which generation you have, will burn your fibre optics.
