| You shouldn't have too many problems at all. I know that with the E30, you don't even need to change your engine mounts, just reverse your crossmember. Not too sure of whats involved with the E36 though.. The SR20DET will be an interesting swap, I hope you end up doing it ![]() |

| I think they said something about the only thing you have to do to get the SR20DET in is switch mounts around or something. Other than that it pops right in - thus why it is a popular conversion amongst E30s. It should fit in an E36..... but it might need a bit more manipulation. Here is a site to check out: Click Here. | dammit you stole my idea not that itll stop me anyways everyone i have talked to has basically said it wouldnt be no hassle at all a bit of cost but no hassle (does that sound like a mechanic or what lol) |

| for $16500 u can drop an M3 engine and running gear in a E36. that would seem the better idea due the the fact that it drops in and it is full M3 spec which means it will handel the power. but dropping a SR20 is a good idea in a E36 due to the fact that not many ppl have done it. make sure u get an S14 or S15 sr20 thou because the S13s are very dated now and the last thing u need is to fined the engine blown after paying for it to be dropped in. p.m me for info on workshops to do the swap. i know of 3 that will do it for that price.(if not less)

| there is an E36 running a 2jz in the u.s but due to the fact that it did not drop in. look to pay out your ass to get the motor in there. and the motors themselves are still aorund the same as an RB26. which is around $8000 for the half cut. u r better to drop an Rb26 in because it has not been done and the RB26 is as good if not better(bullet proof block)

| a cheaper alternative to the 2JZ is the 1JZ - 2.5 twin turbo from the soarer. these engines are immensely under-rated and is a conversion that has been suggested to me for an E36....

| if you must I would look at a Lexus V8 .. or if you want to keep it BMW a 5 serries motor .. Nothing beats the sound of a v8 and the lexus twin cam sounds really good . It also has a few good bolt on supercharger adn turbo kits around ..

| Lex V8 is auto....to get a manual costs a lot of $$$ as everything needs to be custom fabricated. Plus it's been done....

| A turbo S14 would be nicer. If you do go with SR20DET make sure it's the black cam cover model.
