| I think its a hard decision you have to make. You are going to have to weigh up the pros and con of getting repaired as opposed to selling and moving on. One thing is, at least you will know what has been fixed on it if you get it repaired, as opposed to not knowing what you are getting into with another vehicle. I have my stock suspension from my E36 318i I will let go cheap if it helps and is able to fit your vehicle. I dont know that it will fit though. Dave

| it never ends sorry to dissapoint, yes u know what needs replacing and what has been replaced once u replace it, but sorry it never ends its an old car whether u replace bits here and there others will go and the bits u reconditioned or bought new wont last forever, i think if u cant afford something sorry but dont buy it or keep it, you really have to ask yourself is their somehting else that would give me more pleasure in the long run to spend that money on. each to their own good luck

| yeah thats why i do all the work on my car myself or with the help of others. Tranformed an E30 318i into a 323i single handedly and my present car used to be a 320i Auto. . is a 325i Manual now ![]() We did the rear suspension at Droooz's house but needed a mechanic to fit the front struts as you really need a tool driven by compressed air. Oil changes, components like alternators, starter motors, gearboxes, even the diff! Done them all myself. Its the only viable way to own an old BMW otherwise your money just dissapears. With the oil leaks, the bad ones are the ones from the rear of the engine and the gearbox will have to come out. $$$ if you're paying for it.

| I think Michael has given the best advice so far. (No Offence to Dave or Kirk!) But, its true. Cancelling out "Labour" costs can save you heaps. All depends on if your mechanically minded or not. Anyhow, best of luck. -DROOOZ |

| My mate is a mechanic and he does repairs for me in his driveway on beaters if I help and chat for $30 an hour. ![]() IMO cars under 4 years old are where its at - older cars can become time and money suckers ESP BMWs. As for your situation - Id only sell it if I told the buyer all the problems (integrity issue) otherwise Id fix it. |
