| Melbourne National Meet Hey people, we have returned from Melbourne national meet.
After about 20 hours of driving driving and more driving, we concluded that it was a pretty fun weekend.
And the good thing is, even though MADV12 didn't get the spectators choice award like it did at the previous show and shine ... IT TOOK 1ST PLACE!
So that was pretty cool.
Just a quick recount on how it all went. + Saturday Evening
Quick get together at Drifters Alibi. Not many people showed up and we didn't do a whole lot, only because basically we were the interstate foreigners. We just said hi to everyone and .. yeh. Didn't really know anyone. Not to mention we were tired from driving all day so we retired early. + Sunday Morning
Meet at a parking lot, quite a few cars showed up for this one actually. After that a short 30-40 minute cruise to the place where the show and shine was held. We were all impressed by the roads and views that we encountered! And of course, we took our precious BMW flag and hung it out the sunroof .. RePrEsEnT SyDnEy!! + Sunday Show N Shine
Apperantly, only 16 out of 33 people showed up with their cars, and the remaining didn't even bother to tell them that they're not going anymore. That was slack considering that a lot of money and time was put into the organisation of the event.
It was great though, we had a nice water view and we had free drinks and a bbq!
We had competition though, some of the cars were immaculate and really nice. It was a good day, besides the fact that we almost melted from the heat, I personally got reeaally sunburnt. Didn't expect that from Melbourne! + Sunday Evening
We went to a pub where we had a little area reserved for us, where everybody received their trophies and everyone just talked to one another.
After the Spectators Choice and 3rd Place trophies were handed out, I put my camera away and thought oh well, it was still fun. So it was a hassle trying to fish it out again when my dad stood up to claim his trophy .. hehe.
Nick got 11th place and he's still happy cause he had a good time. Oath!
Didn't stay too late, went back to our hotel and watched F1 Round One! Wo0! + Other Stuff
Melbourne is the lord of the flies!
This was weird, we saw at least 1 bmw (no joke) like every 100m! We were playing 'lets count the beemaz'!
Melbornians drive crazy .. Nick and I were scared of driving on the tram tracks!
Note that the show and shine was very impressive and well organised, so if there's gonna be another national event, count us in.
For the time being, we're going to Melbourne again soon to watch F1!
