| Make your car handle better? I asked this on e30 forum, because i think that most people who track and autox read this forum more then the general discusion. I am interested to find out what affects handling more weight disturbtion or weight it self? Which car will likely handle better the heavier one with 50/50 ratio or a slightly lighter car but with a worse balance? I am asking this because I am thinking about taking out the backseat, but then wouldn't there be more weight on the front tires then its supposed to be, so the balance we'll be off, but the car will be lighter. P.S. I just got an 86 corolla to practice drifting and other usefull driving skills. |

| um... the backseat doesnt weigh much, only 32lbs total, top and bottom peices, i just weighed it... if your gonna start lightening your car, take it from the front first, where there is more weight to begind with, removing the rear seat is a dumb mild lightening technique, as it makes road noise alot louder, and your "backseat" area now looks gay... If you want quick and easy lightening, remove your washer fluid tank, water weighs 8LB per gallon. remove your power steering, its dead weight remove your a/c, learn to roll your windows down. that will lighten up the front a good 100lb or so, which is a significant amount. |

| My backseat in the M3 weighs probably 5lbs., it is foam with a leather cover.

you forget that the seats also have a metal frame inside them, and they are made of high density foam, which weighs more then one might imagine |
