| They aren't bad alarm systems. I have a write-up on my Stellar Alarm install on my webpage. At the end are some pros and cons to the system... http://people.ne.mediaone.net/mpincott/m3-alarm.html

| I have one and it is a great alarm and is easy to install and works well, but Dustin95M3 has the hookup on an alarm that makes me drool. It's got this little remote with a picture of the car on it and when a sensor goes off it shows which on the remote which sensor was tripped (your windows, doors, etc.). It includes either remote start, or you can control the windows with the remote, and the remote has more than a mile range (you can arm/disarm/start from a mile too!) for around $300! Central valley guys can get it installed for cheap too! If anyone is interested I could find out more about them from him. |

| There is no way the Stellar alarm install is 20 minutes unless you load up on crack before the install. I guess if you wanted to you could install it in an hour and a half, but if you relax and do a really good job it is more like two hours. I installed one on my M3. I think the alarm features are pretty nice, but the install and use instructions are worthless. i didn't get the CD. Also, I do not really like the remote. The range is poor and the buttons are recessed and hard to press. |

Hmm... I didn't get any CD with the install and the photocopied instructions were far from great, but the install isn't really that hard. If I had to do it again, I'm sure I could it in about 30 minutes but doing it the first time with just instructions and no nice pictures or hints made for slow going. I'd have to agree with some of Gaffes' point. The remote unit could be better designed and the buttons are kinda hard to press. However, the range on my unit is great. Then again, I also spent lots of time running the antenna away from other electronics. I ended up routing it under the far vent on the passenger side. The thing I dislike most about the kit is the way they wanted you to mount the blinking "armed" LED. Cutting a hole in pop-out on the console is such an unelegant solution. On Stellar's defense, the factory BMW alarm does the same thing.. Spending the extra time and money on the euro alarm LED is worth it. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

| What does the Euro alarm LED look like? I hate the way mine looks! I accidently broke the LED that came with the alarm when I was putting it in so I orded this SUPERBRIGHT Varad one, which is fine, except the little bulb holder is shaped all funky to make it look like it belongs on an alien space-ship, not my car! I want something that looks smoother. I was looking into a laser to use instead, that beams "SECURITY" across my dash or console, but i think it just might attract too much attention! I'm working on finding out more about the alarm I mentioned, but if you have detailed questions you can PM Dustin95M3, he'll be glad to help. |

I think I might have figured out why the range is so bad. I can be standing five feet from my car and it doesnt work. Please explain the antenna install. My instructions say nothing about it. |
