Credit Card GOod or bad Credit question *read please*

hey everyone well last year my sister had bought a cell phone for me under her name and her credit card. i have been writing and sending in the checks all year long but i'm tired of cingulars service so tomorow i'm going to go swtich to at&t. here is my question. i just got my bank of american credit card last money and my credit limit is 1000$. do you think that is enough for the phone company to allow me to open up my own cell phone account under my own name. i know last year i tried opening an account using my check card and it didn't work cause they said i didn't have enough credit. so do you guys think i will be able to get it on my own or not. please reply thanks

the only way i figured that they game me such a high limit is because i use my check card a lot in the last 3 years i had it and never bounced a check so thats why they gave me a 1000 limit. but my new card i have been using it all month long and never got a bill on it yet. so i don't know if that will show up that i haven't even paid a bill yet. get me??

why dont you try to put it under your name and see if you qualify with out a deposit....if so then charge the deposit on your credit card, pay your bill really well then you will recieve the full deposit back in full with interest. JUST MAKE SURE your not LATE....

how much is the deposits and when do i recieve my deposit back??

the average time of holding a deposit is a year then the co will either cut u a check MINUS the present bill or just credit your account. hope this helps

it depends on the credit history of the customer.....with cingular it ranges from 0 to 1000.00 .....if ur around 19 and have no credit i can pretty much say its a 300 (starting out dep. )do u have any loans or credit cards from say 6mths ago...?

i dont know about att...i work with cingular ......well dude u might have a deposit....you have to understand cellphones are harder to get than a loan for a car...why? well cellphone is a 4.3 billion dollar a year fraud...so the cell companys are just really covering there asses!!!

what do you think would happen if i came into your store and gave you my CC and you called in and checked. showed that i have a 1000 limit and have 800 available in funds. and just got this card with no payment history at all. when you pull up my CC will my check card show up to. because i use my check card all the time. like 300-400 a month on my check card. what do you think my chances of getting approved is. does it depend on the store owner, the phone company, or just the sales man himself that decides if i get approved or not?

none of the above...most cell companys check credit right from the credit breau....so its not up to anyone expect the credit people. with the info u gave me about ur self. i would say since u just got the redit card 300.oo deposit. check cards do nothing to help just hurt...if u are over drafted alot then the credit breau is notified and it goes against u ...if ur a good little boy and never over drafted they dont give a shit. when i was 18 and bought my first jeep (first car) my dad cosigned with me. it took 6 months to show up with the credit breau.

well the cellular co. tells the credit breau, which ever one is being used, how strict to be when judging. so if i could (which i cant) look at ur credit report and i didnt see anything there the i would rate u a deposit b/c i dont know ur payment habits...other words i dont know how responsible u are? Ya know....?? hope this helps.
