Where to mount tweeters??

Ok so I just bought a 345is component set, but now I am struggling with the issue of where to mount the tweeters in my e36. I would like to use the stock tweet location, but the sound won't be so great because the distance from the midbass kickpanel and tweet will be too great. I guess installationwise mounting them near the kick panel is easier and will probably sound better from what I gathered from searching about this topic, but the seller of 345is system is asking me what kind of mounts I want: flush, angle flush or surface mount cups?? I am not sure how I should mount these some have said mount them behind the kickpanel flush others say outside and angled, some say inside and angled. I want these to sound real good, but without them getting damaged by my foot etc. Any suggestions? I appreciate all replies
