Yes and no...
Before TFATF, when I was looking to buy a car, I could get a MKIV Supra Turbo from around $13-$15k. After the movie, the prices doubled, if not tripled. But they are in high demand, no doubt.

Also, about mods not increasing the price of a car. That's not true either. Sure, the seller will not recoup all of their investment, but as long as the modifications are desirable and functional, it will increase the value of the car. This is where the Kelly Blue Book or NADA don't really help. If you walked up to a NOPI show winner and offered him Blue Book, you'd be laughed at.
