Newbie with questions:

Just brought home my new 2003 Sterling/Black 525ia yesterday:

I'll have loads of questions along the line, I really get into my cars and have to know everything! I've fooled with cars since high school and owned Volvo, VW, Audi, Mercedes & Lancia over the past 30 or so years. I used to do most of my own mechanical work but it's getting more and more complicated. Over the past 5 years I've served as a moderator off and on at a B5 Passat enthusiast website, www.clubb5.com and I'm very fluent in carspeak. I'm "BobV" (Bob Vernon) over there and you can see my mildly modified Passat (I didn't trade it in) posted in the West Coast member's section. You can also see pics of my hot rod 1970 Volvo that had an IPD rebuild a number of years ago. I'll often relate to my many experiences with previous cars in comparison with the BMW.

A couple of questions to start:

1. I have the factory sport suspension, exactly what did I get? Stiffer shock settings are obvious but what about the springs? Does the sport suspension lower the car and if so, how much? Are the sway bars upgraded too?
2. Has anyone had problems programming the garage door opener? I have Sears garage door openers installed about 2 years ago and multiple tries following the manual instructions have failed.

Is posting questions and comments at both Roadfly and here redundant?

Thanks!
