well im not a big pro in shipping so i have no idea what the standard carrier insurance is, maybe thats is standard in some companies but not all, i remember reading a liability clause in the contract with DAS that they were not to be held liable if the car suffered damages if you didnt purchase the insurance from them, maybe thats just them, i dont know, all i know is that when i was shopping around all the shippers wanted between 590 and 800 dollars for tracked, bottom position, expedited, open conteiner, insured car from Waltham Mass, to Miami FL, and they did it. Maybe you have more shipping experiece with diferent carriers etc, but all i want to say to the thread starter is that DAS is a good company that he should consider
