What do you guys think of the 840's and 850's???

I personally like them. However, I have heard they give a lot of problems and are very expensive to fix. Does anybody have an 8 series and what do you think about the car???

they are around 28K- 40K (that's the range of prices i could estimate)

what's not:
-interior design is old and not so good
-4000cc or 5000cc but you don't feel enough power, because it's heavy
-too much computer problems (the computer's sensor is too sensitive)
-it's expensive to repair.. (believe me on this one)
-most 8-series engine will fail if you abuse it too much.

To tell you the truth, I wanted to invest in one of these a couple months back. However, all I have been getting is bad feedback from everybody I ask about the car. I love the look though.

Dinan used to have a tuning twin turbo setup that brought the 850csi to 800 HP!!!

I'd love to have one of those, fuel consumption is not really an issue for me since a cae like that was never designed to be "fuel efficient".

Theres not many 8 series cars around it would be very cool to drive one thats modded.

yeah, nice cars, but expensive to maintain. if you get one, i would go with an 840ci, since it is a more reliable motor and there is decent aftermarket support for the V8.
it's a gt, not a sports car though.

last night i saw a dinan 8 series, it was maroon, i looked at the license plate, TWNTRBO i was like ooooooooh ****in shit, no way, i was gonna wait and talk to the owner, but i had to get my food from the meat department cuz i thought they were gonna close and by the time i came out, i think i missed it, but damn it woulda been nice to talk to the owner about it, get some specs and shit, it was Maroon btw, and it was an AUTO!

I work at BMW and the shop forman said that they have the most problems out of all the BMW's. Right now they are rebuilding a new block for an 840. I would not get one but that's just me. My dad looked at getting one too. I advised him not too.

I personally love the 8 series, it is one of my top 3 favorite cars of all time. I would do anything for an 850CSi. They are the pinnacle of BMW coupes IMO. If you have the oppertunity and you can afford it ( i mean maintaince wise and upkeep) get one now!
