| I was meeting my parents at a pretty upscale restaraunt one night and as I was pulling up, this beautiful black 850csi rolled up with BBS rims. I shot the bull with him for a while, asking him about it, he could have cared less about talking to some young punk, he wanted some grub, but indeed one of the nicest BMW's I've ever seen. |

| The 850i/840i/850CSi were all nice cars but they're way too heavy to be a swift sports car. I would consider more like luxury GT cars, definitely good for cruising but bad for autocrossing. It's a great looking car though! Jon |

| 850csi is sweet. Great styling, but I've never seen one in manual. Those things are a beast, I would definitely persue it if you want one..then takes tons of pictures. ![]()

| The 850CSi was only available in stick. There were no automatic 850CSis. On the other hand, the 850i/850Ci could be had with either an auto or stick. Jon Quote:

| Thanks for the knowledge. I was actually just on R/D's site seeing if they had anything cool for 8ers, but all they have are body kits. You learn something new everyday. ![]()

| The 8 series was alway's a car to look out for, it still turn's head's wherever you go. Power, handling all in one package. if your serious about purchasing one then make sure you get a good inspection both in terms of mechanic's and history. Best of luck.... ![]()

| For me the 8er was/is the best looking bmw made. The Dinan twin turbo is no longer offered. If I remember correctly it had 607HP and 666ft lbs tq. I think someone on this board has a 850TT. The car is just amazing. As far as maintenance, from my experience if the car is well maintained there will be no problems (crossing fingers). How ever costs to repair things on the car is not cheap. Good you hear you had a good experience with the 8er.
