850 is ?

What ever happened to the 850's? Does any one know if BMW will bring this ever beast back. Is it just a page in history?

i dont know if they would now that they have the 6 series. what would they make? a two door 7 series? i jsut couldn't see it.

Actually BMW is thinking of making a 2 door car in the price range of the z8, or 850. The just dont know if to make it a roadster, or coupe. But they are planning it to be an (M-B) SL fighter

I loved the 850's design it really was a sports car. The new designs seem to be more luxury. they really should bring it back as a coupe. we have enough roadsters already.

8 series failed miserably to do what BMW brought it to existence for (basically replacing the E24 6 series). It was a nice luxury cruiser but was much too heavy and piggish to be anything other than that. Looks damn hot, though. I would definitely own one.

I think bmw should produce a production super sport as a coupe . to compete with the porsche, vettes, ferrari's and such. i know we have the z8 but it isnt a coupe. they should put that Z8 motor in a coupe that would be hot. Ive seen a show on speed vision talking about the pontiac gto up against a bmw 330 and bragging about all the power the gto has over the 330. but they are comparing a v8 ls1 to a bmw 330 which i believe is six cylinder. that is an unfair match up. what a bunch of bull. put it up to a z8 then we'll see what's up.

man there aer alot of those running around here...ive seen prob 6 or 7 of them....i love the car...it looks so beast coming down the road.....i heard that they are a pig when it comes to 0-60 but as far as top end they are a monster

The old ///M5 engine (which is in the Z8) was getting closer and closer to not passing the strict regulations of the emmissions over here for a new engine each year that passed, thats part of the reason they did have the last of the run Alpina Roadster with basically a (again) bored out 4.4L block to 4.8L. Part of the reason was also that they didnt have an auto tranny that could handle the ///M5 engine at the time and all the Z8 buyers wanted autos. Anyways, the ///M5 engine is out of the question. Too bad. Hell of an engine.

i heard that originally when the new and oh so sexy 6 came out....it was suppose to be the NEW version of the 8....and based off of the 7 series. reports have it on Germancarfans.com that bmw is coming out with a new numbering series..even is coupes and odd is sedans.....ex..1 series, and the M version will be the M2...(no they couldnt disrespect the M1) there will be an M3, but the coupe will be called M4...M5 ...and M6 and also in the works an M7.....wow oh so many M's i dream to have all them on my drive way.

another report on Germancarfans...they are saying the M3 will remain M3 coupe, convertible and coupe....they couldnt insult the tradition of M3 and call the coupe M4

alot of interesting things going on...

I agree the 850 does look alot tougher in style. But im liking the six, probably that hamann kit!
