Im a huge fan of the 850!! I wish I had one, they can look so gangster when drop'd, in black with the front/back windows down riding on some fat deep dish wheel!! However I looked at the Hamann 6 coupe above, I wanna rip around some track in that puppy!!! It just looks so mean!!!

few things.... a new 8 series would be HUGENORMOUS! think about it... the 6 is a 2 door 5 series, always has been. so the 8 would be a 2 door 7 series. and that is massive. it would be competing with the likes of the bentley continental gt. as cool as that might sound, thats just not what bmw does. there was a prototype m8 made, and was suitably angry and rediculous (go look for the pics! its a red one with black wheels) but i think feasability studies ruled it out, would have been too expensive. thats why they made the 850csi and why they let alpina play with the 8 series. go look those 2 up, the v12's in those 2 cars are very different to the standard bmw 5.0 litre v12
secondly, the numbering system has been scrapped.... or as far as the 3 and 4 series go. from what i've been reading lately, bmw thought it was a very very bad idea to change the names of their top selling range - the 3 series. so the 4 series will not exist, it will just be the 3 series coupe as it always has been.
thirdly, M7. not going to happen. M stands for motorsport, not mercedes benz luxo barge. how are you going to make a 7 series into a racer? and no an s55/65 amg isn't a race car, its a big luxo barge. M7 would be totally against everything the Motorsport division stands for. and thats why there has NEVER been an m7.

I wouldnt be surprised if it was above like 3800 lbs. Its such a pig. *thumbs way down*. I thurts me when I see that car around. Like when a family member (BMW) lets you down harcore, but you love them so much, there is no anger, only hurt. Yes, I'm fanatical about BMW in that sense. haha. Just the first sign of me getting older and starting to resists change and new things/designs (which is bad, I know. Although lots of new designs I like a lot, just not BMWs, as "dynamic" and "progressive" as they may be). Not every car can be like the Old School Bimmers, as well they shouldnt. This new batch is the first time I havent even been able to "get used" to any of the hideous designs, which is hard, because I start liking ANYTHING BMW makes because its BMW. Eh, whatever, theyll make tons of money from people wanting to drive stuff that gets noticed, regardless of its performance characteristics or heritage so I suppose thats a positive point.

I know what you mean. the e30's are fun to drive the handling to power is awesome. love the e36's style. then they started getting round on the e46, doorhandles that stick out, starting to look like a new jetta on steroids. the e90 is imo just ugly, just cant get used to it. guess i'm like you said getting old, also.
