8 series questions

I know almost nothing about them, they look like the M1 but without the back glass slates, were the bodies still made in Italy or moved to Germany, Engines are V12 same as 7 series? V8 same as 5 series? when did they stop production? I saw a 93 for sale and thought it was a M1 and almost shat myself because they only made lif 200 of them, but it turned out to be a 8 series I was planning on saving for a 99 M, but the 8 was 19,000 dollers about what it cost for a good 99 M. Opions on it please.

The 8 is actually my dream car next to the newest M3 and M5 the V12 is awesome. My friend told me a story about when he was in his friends 850Ci, they were on the highway doing around 75 or so... they watched as a car passed them on the right and some "cute chick" was driving it. my friend said to his friend "come on this is a BMW with a V12 in it you can catch her. So he slammed on the gas and took off. he said that once they hit 100 mph the car "transformed" (what he meant was) The radio turned down, the windows rolled up, the seats moved back & down and the car just squatted on the road, and made it feel more "cozy and attached". Then it felt like the 8 went from 100 - 125 in the time it takes it to go 0-60.

This story amazed me, not sure if its true or not, but either way i still love the 8. I would trade my 325ci for it. straight up

everytime i drive my 850 around in downtown areas i always get civics racing me at street lights and its hard to keep up because the car is so heavy , whenever im on the highway though just cruising at 70-80 , there is no competition, 70-130 feels like it goes by in a second, i find myself blowing past turbo eclipses that pass me 0-60 and i FLYYY past them at 140, i have a conforti chip and some other fun mods that remove the top end limiter, ive gotten up to 170 and it still feels like 70

The 850csi is probably one of my favorite cars. I've always wondered how reliable they are and if it would be anymore to upkeep the 850 then the M3.

according to car dealers around here the car was haulted because of its countless faults!!! it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay complicated even by today's standards!!! honestly i won't buy one no matter how cheap the price tag is and no matter how clean it is!!!! those o' ya'll dreaming of one come to Dubai and take your pick!! the MOST expensive one i found ran for AED45000 = $12000...that one had options more than i could desire for!! colour?? green with a yellow-grade leather interior <---- beat this!!!

too bad they couldn't build them right....

def better to keep the 850 everyone and their mom has an m3 time for some uniqueness...ive rode in the csi 0-60 still isnt too bad but after 60 is where the thing really takes off...60-150goes by really friggin fast then you hit the limiter.....but with a chip hehehe
