I have seen some aftermarket parts for the 8 in my desperate searchs for E32 parts for example i think BMP carries an axle back supersprint exhaust system for the car.

Shock, they do...but besides that, nothing. Just some oddball spoilers and skirts. I have Magnaflows that are just as good as those SuperSprints. There are upper and lower control arm bushings, working on a strut brace, and that is it....everything else is custom. Oh yeah....and 3M headlight shields.

Yea I know how it is having a hard time finding parts. It's not like theres a mass aftermarket for the E32.

Dad was telling me that the V12 wasn't that reliable. He had a customer that had to get a new engine. For a rebuilt engine it was $17,000.

Lies, all LIES! the engine is bullet proof. From the roadfly board, there was only one person with an 850 with serious engine problems, but that was because of poor maintenance. Some of the common problems that may arise are misdiagnosed for something more serious. The only serious thing that they have is that the wires degrade, that is it.

This was an older man and always had it serviced at the dealer. It was always kept up well before the engine died.

I think someone mentioned they'd like to see a turbo 850 on the boards someday

Well i know for a fact it exists because i was looking through a bimmer magazine from few months ago and it featured an 8 series get together in the redwood forest in cali and they had a picture of a marroon Dinan twin turbo 850 owned by some guy named Don Gootee the license plate is a cali one. Anyway just thought I'd share that.

There is a guy on the Roadfly board that made his own twin turbon system for the 850 and is making 444 HP and 524 TQ.

http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e31/5537028-1.html
http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e31/5537988-1.html

And on this next article is one of many stories that involve a high mileage V-12 that was abused. Surprisingly the only thing that was wrong with it was that the cams were a bit worn after 270K kilometres. So that is why I would not trust the dealership where that guy had his engine replaced.
Now if you are confused and the car was an 840, that is a whole different story. The 840's had a problem with the Nickasil engines. They had weak/bad cylinder walls that were easily scored by the piston rings.

Nice car, especially 850CSi. I think 840Ci and 850i are very great luxury-GTs and they go very well, too. Is here anybody, who has heard or seen 830Ci. I´ve seen one and I´m sure BMW made about 20 of them. The engine was 3-litre V8 with 218hp. Ps.E31, is your black 850i the model with 300hp or the newer with 5.4-litre V12 with 326hp. I think that is pretty rare model too, the 5.4-litre.

I thought the 830's were only for Europe and only like 40 of them were made or something
