e32 750IL - Performance modding advice requested!

1989 750IL

Dinan offeres a lot of performance modification, but I have a great shop I take it too with incredible mechanics. They will do anything to it I want, all I have to do is bring them the parts. I guess buying the parts from dinan is an option, but their prices are pretty high. They dont even list the price to add twin-turbo on their web site. Anyone know where I can get hot parts for my 7?

I would advise (if the car is new to you) that you save a bit of money first, the early V12s can be REAL money pits at first. I believe Dinan no longer offers the TT conversion for the V12s.

ya they were supposedly most unreliable V12. however there is serious HP to be had with that car.

Yeah, I've heard about a lot of problems with the e32 750's. Mine has been converted from the factory air ride to springs, and is in superb condition. I'll post pic's one of these days. I know of all the mods Dinan offers but im curious as to if there is somewhere else to get the parts and have my mechanics do it.

Whoever said that our V12's are the worst are crazy. The only problem they have are the intake manifold gaskets and sometimes the DK motors need cleaning. All things you can do yourself...I have done it. I also changed (preventitive repair) the plug wires and distributor rotors, all the stuff that happens on regular cars. Otherwise our V12's are excellent and perfect. I have 108K on my V12. If I had to fix the engine for some odd reason, I would get this motor on the site I have posted.

I would go with the 422 package since they are already doing the work. It seems they do a good job with what they do to the engine. Otherwise Dinan is expensive for the same stuff you find through other companies. Try going to the http://bimmer.roadfly.org/ and go in the BMW section and pick your car. They have tons more info there for our cars rather than this board. Don't get me wrong there is tons of info here for all to learn. I love this board but there really is not much info for our cars.

Yeah mine is sittin right under 160k miles, and it runs like a fiend. for a 4200lb car the acceleration is quite impressive. The only problem im having is lights going out that arent burnt out bulbs. Also around 140mph theres quite a bit of vibration in the wheel, partly related to the road im sure but it seems like theres times the wheel will do the same vibrating at lower speeds. Thanks for the info.

The lights going out are problems with your LKM. Check the relays and the solder joints.
