Need Advice - Picking up Wife's 740I

They finally fixed/replaced my wife's engine.
The solution must have cost at least $15000. They also found two additional funny things:
The new engine does not ship with spark plugs.
It ships "dry" (no fluids)
It doesn't ship with a thermostat.

When driving the car in during the repair, the transmission refused to shift - went into failsafe mode - out of 3rd gear.

They found a faulty chafed wire in the tranmission housing - next to a bunch of other transmission wiring. They replaced the wire.

They want to charge me $50 deductible for that fix. That chafed wire may or may not have presented itself - I had driven the car for over 20K and nothing, the mechanic takes it out and whamo. This happened when the mechanic took it home and back (something that I allowed).

I don't want to pay the deductible and am not legally liable to pay it because a) it happened while the guy was driving it b) they never asked me if they needed to fix that wire once they found what the problem was.

DO I PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE????? It's the principle, not the money.

i say **** no on principle. look at all the shit youve gone through so far. now there going to stick you for a 50 dollar peice of shit wire that broke wit their guy in the drivers seat? puh-lease

I would pay the $50, be happy that was the full extent of their extortion, and drive my newly-engined 740 home with a smile. Maybe you should try sassing them, "wiseass."

I hope the last part is taken with the same jest in which it was delivered

EXACTLY, If you fuss and fight it will be bad for you in the future..
50 dollars aint shit compaired to the hassle of finding another dealership. Let me tell you that if you piss them off, they WILL remember. And there is no worse feeling then leaving your car with someone you don't trust or are worried about them messin with your car.......
