Looking to get an E38, need some help

hey gang,
I'm looking at purchasing an E38 7 series and have some questions. I was curious if anyone around has any experience with the 4.4 v8 and its reliability etc?? also i'm looking for a car that drives sporty and if anyone has driven one i would appreciate the opinions. I have been looking at getting a new 330ci but this car seesm like a great deal not to pass up. Only negative though is that it can't be had in a manual tranny

How much do you have to spend? Why not a 540i 6-speed if you want a fairly large, sporty car? If I was to get a 7 series I would get the E38 750iL. BMW V12 Power

that one has the sports package

From what i've heard they are really reliable cars, but cost a fortune to repair if something goes wrong...

The one your looking at looks flawless, minus the little scratch on the wood trim, which isnt even a big thing. For all you need, check out the Roadfly E38 Boards.

Well i have been looking at the 540i /6 but they are just holding their value to well. The 7 series can be had relatively cheaper. The 540's i'm finding have around 70K miles and still want a price around 37 grand. Anyhow I love the styling of the E38.
