85 735I Vents/ windows

Yo, I need some helpfull advise... Heres the problem.. none of vents blow air. the windsheild defoger vent works, but thats it and none of the other vents will blow any air what so ever. I was thinking it was electric maybe a relay or switch somewhere.? My windows dont work either, no roll up or down. IDK..

If you have lost vacuum to the centre controls, they won't work.
Also if the fan will not turn on, you have the same thing - reverts to defrost.
You will have to check the fuses for the fan and the electric windows. The right hand drive models have a central switch to the left of the steering wheel which is an isolater switch for all the windows. A bit of a trap for new players.
I don't wish to hose down your enthuisiam, but it did take me 2.5 years to work out the fan business...

you are right, the only thing working is the defrost. but im not really to concerned with it.... I REALLY need windows. lol. I dont know if this is of any relevence but when the key is turn'd to accessory a vacuum pump is running under the hood...? IDK. My car is left-hand drive... But your saying to check the fuses first?...And do I have the same isolater switch you were talking about?

Hi,
There should be a rocker switch on the side of the steering column; this is the central switch for the windows. There is also a switch on the centre console to turn off the windows except for the drivers window.
As for the pump on accesories, this is an auxilliary vacuum pump for the centre console. Supplies vacuum when the engine is under acceleration; as I understand it.

Dude Glenn thank you! I just bye-pass't the central switch next to the steering wheel.... Bam all windows working. it took me about 10 minutes. I not even worried about the vents im to happy about the windows...
