PRoblems... help...

Hi I have just purchased a 2000 735i Sport, E38. I have these problems if anybody can put a finger on it, would really appreciate it.

1. Car sometimes won't start but keeps craking over, need turn the ignition on and off a couple of times before it fires into life.

2. My TV monitor works fine when you first start the car, but if you are driving around the whole day, it will sometime stop functioning properly, ie, it goes on and off... and so I cannot use my sat nav. But the CD stacker still plays.

Yo bru, it sounds like contacts on the ignition side and electric on the screen, check out your cables.

Thanks, errr... where are the cables located? which ones should I check?

sorry bru for only replying now, just hectic my side, did you manage to sort out your problems, if not then i would say take your car to an auto electrician, they will be able to help, if you were in south africa cape town, would have sorted you out in two clicks, sorry that i cudnt be of more help, good luck....

Nope still not sorted, infact my car has currently got a flat battery. This is twice that it has happened in the last 2 weeks. With the starting problem, my mech reckons that it is to do with the cam sensor... but he is not sure, the car is going in tomorrow, if it will start... it is currently chraging.

oh yeah, took the car to BMW Adelaide, and they said that there was a fault with both the Sat Nav CD drive unit as well as the TV screen. Said that the cost for replacement of both the units is $5k. Man that is expensive. To the service person's credit, he did try to hit up BMW for some good will, otherwise it would have cost $6K.
