Looking at buying a 79 733, help please...

Well guys, found an insane deal on a 79 733, stickshift. The owner says it has a fuel leak, and I seen it has a rotten rubber fuel line. It has a fuel vaccum leaks as well. Overall the car is in great shape, and needs new wood on the interior. How is the overall reliability of this car? It has only 114k miles, and will be my first ever BMW. Always thought it would be a 3, but whatever lol. The 7 is nice, and just needs a little work. It is a project. Any help is appreciated.

How much is the guy asking? I don't know the first thing about 733s, but I wouldnt personally pay more than 2500 for it.

The only problem with older bmw's is parts availability. You may have to spend an arm and a leg to get a part that you need to make the car run properly.

Yea, noticed that lol. I can get everything needed, except the air intake boot that goes into the air meter. That is a part I do need. Can I just use a MAS adapter and a conical filter over the ghey rubber hose?
