Lowering the E38 7er

Hi. im thinking about doing a 2in (the 1.3 incher does only slight difference in looks/not enough for me) drop on my e38. few questions.
What would be optimal shocks for the setup (stock wouldnt be ok?)?
wouldnt my 18` m-pars look too small, if id dress up em in thin rubber (current baloons would look silly with lowered car aswell, i think), wouldnt i need at least 19` or 20` wheels to look ok?
what else is essential to be changed/upgraded while doing the drop (polyurethane brushings??)
