what is a bmw L7

i saw it in the local trading post and just wanted to know what it was. also what are M528i and M535i are they just factory specials?

The L7 is a 'luxury version' of the regular E23 7-series, there is also an L6, which is a special edition E24 6-series... It's basically a heavier version with a LOT of leather, I looked at an L6 _some_ time ago, eg 10 years ago, and it had a leather dash, leather headliner, etc. etc. etc.

The M535i is a regular 535i with the 'M' body work, it was a BMW produced vehicle, but it does not have the S38 from the E28 M5.

I thought L stood for Limosine because it's much longer than the normal 7 Series.

lol Scorp. another thing to point out: If for exaple u come across the names 740iL or 750iL then those are extended/stretched models.

It also should be mentioned that it was the first 5er. It has 15" Mahle or BBS wheels, and had an ///M1 steering wheel and I believe it also came with a dogleg 'box. It had 218 HP, I believe which back then, given the fact that the E12 was a fraction of the weight the pigs of today weigh, is enough. The E12 variant.
