7 series

I am looking forward to purchasing a 7series in few months. I was wondering where i can find information on 95+ 7series. I dont know much but i am looking to learn. Thank you

i dont know much, but my mom has a '95 740il. It is a very comfortable car, and it quite fast for its size (and current value).

There was a recall on the V8 engine for that year ( i dont know about later years) where BMW would test the engine and replace it if needed. Look for past documents to see if the car has been through the test.

this site is like the ultimate bmw site because it contains all sorts of various info on every model made (except the really recent ones starting up like the E46 3-series and the new five and 7). click on the E38, thats the link for 7series starting from 95 till 2001. after that they used the new E6? chassis. there isnt too much info bout the new E6? (2002-present) but from wat i hear only the I-Drive is the troublesome thing. Its a complicated system and not too user friendly :P

if your tight on money, you might wanna go for a E32 ('88-'94). they are built with 6 cyc (88-92) and 8cyc (93-94).

Do some searching on alusil and nikasil blocks... Basically in the US the content of sulfur in our gas was thought to have caused some issues with the block material...

I had a 94 530i with no such problems. BMW did indeed replace motors on some cars and they are to be found, usually with many less miles on engine than car. Not a bad deal.

Yea my dad had a 98 740i very nice car the only thing is maintence tends to be fairly expensive I myself have a E32 1988 735i and i love it

i have an E32 1990 735i. is yours auto or manual? have you modified anything? i have bavauto sport exhaust system, customized intake, racing chip, and thats bout it. n yea i have an auto :/

Yes my car is an auto and i have a homemade intake w/ heatshield so far serves it's purpose and i'm workin on buying the bavauto chip and maybe i'll get the b and b tri-flo exhaust for christmas who knows we'll see

*Also do you think you could post some pics of your 735i i'd be curious to see what it looks like and such
