635 engine...

so, if i could manage to pick up this engine for less than $400, with shipping mind you, would it be worth it to look into doing this swap? i would think i would have gobs of torque, and probably plenty of horsepower...but i don't know much about this. anyone tell me how much of a PITA this would be to do? regards-

if you could pick it up for that price it would be worth it. i think they have a 3.5L engine. i would jump on that.

How much does it weigh? big sixes would probably weigh a lot more than your m20, and would throw your balance off.

Big sixes are about 60 pounds heavier than the M20. This wouldn't be a bad conversion, and with a chip you'd get about 200 HP/torque. If you could get a euro 635 engine, with 220 hp, that would be cool.

200 hp isn't bad back in 84 when they were made.

and there's lots of torque.

you can easily push up the output of the 3.5 with a chip, better flowing intake/exhaust, tb.... all standard bolt-ons.

However, I think it's a bit difficult fitting the big six into the E30, I remember reading an article on it once, and it didn't seem like a very easy task. But if you sdo it, more power to you! =)
