| I think all M30 engines are single cam, only the M5 engine had twin cams. I dont know which is best, but the later model M30's that came in E34's have larger piping and were a true 3.5L some E28's were only 3.3 I believe. (3.3/3.5 engine) |

| i understood that the MAF was more restrictive on the e28 models, then it was change to a less restrictive MAF on the e34 models.... but you can order a race MAF from www.bmpd.com and go with an e28 m30, and have more hp then the stock e34 m30 |

| The US E28 M535I had a higher compression version of the M30 than the standard 535i. If I remember correctly it made an extra 20 or so hp...nothing like the the real E28 M5 which had the twin cam S38 as mentioned above. -Lloyd |
