It is amazing how much crap is under your car. When was the last time you really picked it up and hosed it off? Well, I tried. I ordered a new sound deadening sheet that covers the firewall. While I wait for it, I thought I would do some things that didn't cost anything. The pedal assys. are changed over. Piece of cake, the bolt patterns are the same. Since I had to pull the comumn, it was the ideal time to change all the instruments over. The car now has an original check panel, kph cluster and analog clock in the temp control panel. I about had a heart attack when I pulled the temp panel. A small micro switch that controls the a/c fell into a million pieces. It took two days and some creative thinking to drill out the rivets and replace it with one from the doner. I hope it works!! Here are some pics.

This is inspirational, to say the least. I would love to have one of those motors in my e30.

Look what the UPS dude just dropped off. I haven't a clue on how to wire the wipers up, but how can I go wrong with a totally euro set of headlights WITH wipers???

I hate to say it but, no. I really haven't had the time or the inspiration. I know this sounds bad, but with the weather changing, it's time to head to the shop. I do manage to get the most work done when it's rotten outside.
Besides work, I have spent quite a bit of time getting my son started in school.
I know that if I cut corners, I could have the car running in no time, that's not the way I want to do it. So, each little piece as it comes.

Oh, gee, thanks for the temp update!! The highs are high 40's, the lows are in the 20's. The redeeming factor: My local ski resort will open Thanksgiving Day if they get another foot of snow!!! I have a season pass!!!

I lied!! I forgot how long it has been since I posted anything here. If I remember correctly, the site was down and then I forgot about it.

Here is the update and I don't remember when I did this. I had a sound deadning sheet that goes on the engine side of the firewall on order for about two months only to be told that it was no longer available. So, I peeled the new one out of the doner, I wish I had taken better care of it when I was stripping the car. Fortunately, most of the damage won't be seen when the engine is in. I also got the brake booster and clutch master in. Next step is to check all the calipers and bleed the system, then I can put the engine in. I need to do some work to the engine while it's out, much easier. Bill

Glad to know ur still on it. We finaly added a 6 again to our family, my dad's excited he has one again since our last one got owned by a tree ina windstorm.
Sounds like yours is going to be immaculate once it's done w/ all the time your taking in getting all the parts cleaned

Well, I hate to say it but, immaculate it won't be by any stretch of the imagination. My MAIN goal is to get it running, the cosmetics will come later. I have managed to stray from the main goal by nice things to add to the whole picture, but I keep returning to the main goal. I have found some setbacks, mainly RUST!! It's not as bad as some cars that I've seen but rust anyway.
Hopefully admin will get the attachment thing fixed soon (I know it has been an uphill battle) so I can post a few pics. Bill
