| Ahh, this was how it was a while back. But things change. Good to see people still appreciate an honest, non-shit talking thread. ![]()

I drove up into the area I grew up in a few weeks back, its changed a lot, but still very quiet, couldn't live up there, like to be close to everything. Fortunately I can hop in the 6er and blast outa town into the country if I like ![]() Some of this place reminds me of the community the 'net once was, back in the days when everyone helped each other, I miss those days. Cheers, Iain.

You're a man after my own heart, if people like me thats fine but if they don't thats fine with me too, don't expect me to change to suit you. I don't mind being wrong once in a while, thats how we learn things, if you are never wrong you will never learn anything. Quote:
Would love to see some pictures of your land, been wondering what its like. Living in the southern hemisphere it is kind of funny trying to get your head around what its like somewhere with different seasons, I'm quite cool with timezones, spent a lot of time colaborating with some guys in huntsville Alabama, their evening was my early morning (the next day). Hope the busy seasons work goes well, driving a big truck must take some patience. I hope you enjoy your land, I remember riding a horse round my grandfather's farm as a kid, these days I live in an apartment, but fortunately there are a lot of parks & trees nearby, I love this part of Sydney. Looking forward to hearing more from you, either about your life or your 6er its all good. Cheers, Iain.

| Hi there all you crazy folks!! Not much to tell (work is still taking a lot of my time). I did find a instrument cluster that had not been federalized beyond repair. The speedo is in kph only (what I wanted). I then emailed the guy and he also had a 'test' panel in German that was original!! Now all I need is an analog clock to replace the ugly digital one and a couple of switches. The dash will then be complete!! Life is good, hectic, but good. ![]()

| Well, thanks to young son, I'm back. He started bugging me about the car and today we pulled the motor from the doner. The rest of the stripping will come easy now. There are ulterior motives. The dark secret. BMW's aren't my first love. I have a 1954 Willys CJ3-B. I have had it for 24 years now. It was the first rig my wife and I bought. Wrecking it 3 years ago cost me half my right hand plus many other problems. I finally have the funds to start putting it back together. Don't get me wrong, I want the 6 to live, but I want the Willys to live also. I am going to try to do both at somewhat the same time. Since this forum is "other models" are you interested in a "Boy and His Willys" post??

I've just come back from a weekend visiting some friends and watching a hill climb in Newcastle, everything from the sublime to the rediculous, even met up with some DTM people, one guy (msmola2002) was running his 2002, came second in his class, was great to see. I'll post some pictures somewhere, and a link here if people would like. Time to go tend to my sunburn ![]() Iain.

| Definaetly interested in both projects. Good luck with the car. I'm 17 now, but for the last 3 years my dad and I fully rebuilt a '66 c10 chevy pickup and just last year was the first full year I actualy got to drive it. I know how it goes w/ the projects not goin ur way. Tragically I had more pieces go bad rather than run good. I bought the truck w/ the idea of swapping a motor, a paint job, upholstery and it would be good. Currently once I got it apart it got a new transmission, motor, interior, transmission, wiring, rear end and currently still needs paint. I'm saying this not as a brag, but more just to say, I've been there and speaking from the voice of experience stay w/ it, it may be hard, but its definaetly one of the most rewarding things to do. And doin it w/ ur kid is probably also one of the best things, cuz my dad and I are really close because of the truck. It is a great experience to see a project come along, even tho especially monetarily it really takes a toll by the end of the project. Good luck, sorry to hear about the accident, hope everything turns out ok about that. Where in washington are you, just yesterday my parents went and got grapes to make wine from Porteus. Well, good luck, i'll end the post now before I got too off topic. I'll defiaetly follow how the project goes.

| That's cool, definaetly small world. I also noticed, did you get that euro 6 from a guy in tacoma? My dad and I also looked at buying it and swapping parts onto it cuz we're parting out a 635. Crazy how small of a world it is. Do you do wine also? Howz the car and the willy's comin along?

| The parts car IS the grey one from Tacoma. As far as the wine goes, I had a friend that I made some with before he went big time. I made a late harvest muscat that was to die for (only about 10gallons), and a late harvest gwerstraminer(sp?). That was interesting all the spice and tons of sugar.

| that's kool, my dad hasn't gotten around to a muscat, but we usually make a gwestraminer. Glad to see the 6 from tacoma found a good home. I'm only 18, so i just help out w/ all the pressing and crushing. My dad is into the details. I just enjoy the process, even tho he always steals my argon tank for the co2 for his reds. So how's the willy's comin along? wut motor u runin in it? Hopefully some good ole american muscle, its always my favorite. Too bad they suck on gas. Anyways, that's awesome about the wine, i'm stoked to hear that the grey one found a good home, i'm still sad we couldn't use it, too bad for the freakin bent up firewall, that wuz the only reason we didn't wanna pick it up.
