Alpina and many others have turboed the M30. Its a strong block and Im almost positive that since there are quite a few options for the M20, there could also be options for the M30. Sorry I couldnt be of more help, theres a few guys on here that are turboing their M20s and they would know more about forced induction on our older single cam engines than I.

I'd also look at whatever you can find on the M102, which AFAIK is a single turbo 3.2 litre M30.

Was in the E23 745i, so start looking there.

Cheers,
Iain.

Don't know if it's available in your neck of the woods but in the june issue of "Performance BMW" (thats a UK mag) there is a story about an Australian 635 turbo, 355 rwhp.

Cheers,
Iain.

Thanks for posting that link. I had seen it on another forum and forgot how I found it. That's one cool project, wondered if it would work with the old jetronic injection.
By the way everyone, the project is on hold for a while. This is my busy time of year. My days are around 14 hours long, all I do is eat, sleep and work. Weekends, I play catch up on everything around the house. I do check how much dist the car collects, however.

All goes better with beer. But be careful. It can get to be an expensive habit, especially at a 12 pack a day EWW! Those days are over though. Either way, everything in moderation, even work can be bad if you do it too much. But I assume your wok is a seasonal thing like how accounting is.

I drive a large fuel tanker. A lot of my customers are farmers, rock crushers and construction companies. All of whom are going full tilt right now. It also doesn't help that I live on 2 acres of lawns and gardens that need mowing and weeding. But that I wouldn't trade for any city. , no,no not this country boy!!!

The whole seasonal thing reminds me a lot of when I was growing up, my dad is a veterinary surgeon, when I was a kid most of his practice was race horses & the industry that goes with that, its calm here in winter (your summer), but busy in our summer, never mind what christmas time is like.

These days his practice is mostly cats & dogs, and for an older guy thats probably a very good thing, but christmas time is very busy, here in Australia Vets all over the country get puppies with concusion on christmas day, (kid gets puppy & cricket set as presents, ball gets bowled to kid with bat, puppy chases ball, vet visit ensues, sad & stupid but kinda funny even when you've seen it a hundred times).

I loved growing up in the country, I need to work in the city, I like being walking distance to almost anything I need, more space would be nice, but everything in life is a compromise.

I love the 6 'cause it means I can get out into the country on weekends in comfort, with style and in a timely manner

Cheers,
Iain.

Well, I guess, we are what we are. It's all in how we were brought up. I guess. When you think about it, this little piece of land that I live on has been in my family for almost 100 years. We don't go too far from home, or sooner or later, we always come home.
