| M6 News (21/01/03) The new M6 is to get V10 500Bhp £80,000 will be BMW's most powerful car todate. Reaches the UK in 2005 & will be priced to take on Porsche 911 Carrera, Aston Martin DB8, & new super-coupes from Mercedes & Audi. The new aspirated engine will be upped to 5.5 litres, will acknowledge BMW's F1 involvement as well as competing with rivals stratospehic power outputs without resorting to either Turbocharging or Supercharging. 6-Speed manual or Automatic gearbox , with BMW's third generation version of the SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox) will also be on offer. Weight is likely to be 1700kg, but expect a 0-60mph time of under 4.6secs. Top speed will be electronically limited to 155Mph, but unlimited it should be capable of over 186Mph. Aluminium underpinings, with a combination of struts & multilink suspension at the rear. It shares it's basic geometry with the forthcoming new 5-Series due in Sept 2003, but many components will be unique to the M6. BMW's Active steering are also being modified to suit the hardened performance. The cars more muscular appearance hints of 7-Series with Z9 Concept. Setting it apart from the standard 6-Series is a deeper front air dam with larger cooling vents, 19" Alloys, flared wheel arches, chunky side sills & lower rear valance with a diffuser-style duct, the M6 styling changes will also reduce downforce at speed.      |

| I don't really know what to say. I was thinking about tradeing in my 540I, for a 911 c4 for my daily driver, but I might hold off.

| I am going to take a stab, but the M6 will probably be close to an M5. Around 72k i assume. Maybe a little more.

| this car looks good, but an M is too expensive for me haha. do u guys think they will have a price range of 40-50 G US for the 6 series?... maybe something similar to the 330? |

| All I can say is WOW! That just became my new favorite car. I was all about getting a CLK55, but I think I might hold out for an M6. Absolutely gorgeous.

| It is very unlikely there will be a 6-series that is comparable in price to a 330Ci. Just doesn't make any sense from a marketing standpoint. If you could get a 6-series for the same price as a 330Ci, who would buy a 3-series? Most likely, the lowest 6-series will start in the high 40's and probably max out with options to around 55K. The 645Ci will probably start out in the low 50's and get close to 60K fully optioned out. The M6 will DEFINITELY be in the M5 area in pricing but a little more most likely. It's basically going to be the 2-door version of the E60 M5. Pure insanity.
