that's kind'a surprising because i had the opportunity to test drive the SLK32 AMG last month...
Basically the car on the freeway, floored, doesn't pull as hard as my supercharged M3. I was going around 75 when i floored it.
Also, the following week i had the chance to...ahem..."compare" my supercharged M with a CLK55 and it was basically no contest.
I would assume that the new E46 M3 is just as fast as my M3.
Sometimes i REALLY wonder about how those magazines collect their data. I remember reading some where that almost all the magazines out there get their 0-60 and 1/4 mile times from calculations involving weight vs power and such. If you take a look at European publications, you'll notice that there's rarely a 0-60 time...mostly a 5-60 rolling start time. EVen if they did have a 0-60 time, it's usually significantly slower than the US publication's. On top of that, i personally believe that many publications out there are biased. For example, how the heck can MotorTrend magazine name the new Thunderbird as car of the year??
Well, just my .02 cents...
