| sounds like a hydraulic problem.....first check the brake fluid level in the reservoir...clutch runs off this fluid.....the clutch fluid pipe on the side is quite high up so dosent need to be that low to start drawing in air, if ok have a peak up the side of the gearbox underneath....the slave cylinder is on the side of it...any fluid leaking??? also check up by where the pedal hinges in the pedal box....any fluid leaking??? if not the best thing to do is bleed the system thru with fresh fluid...brake fluid is hygroscopic which means it actually attracts water....not an immediate problem but if that water gets to hot and the water boils and turns to steam then that is a problem coz the steam is compressable unlike the fluid and will give you the spongy feel you are experiencing
